About Air India: Air India was established on 15th October 1932 and is headquartered at the Indian Airlines, New Delhi, India. Air India is a government-owned enterprise and operates a fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft serving 94 domestic and international destinations. The airline was founded by J.R.D. In a historic step, Air India has claimed that it had the world's first passenger journey around the world with an all-women crew. Air India also operates flights to domestic and Asian destinations through its subsidiaries Alliance Air and Air India Express. Air India Regional was established as Alliance Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Indian Airlines on 1st April 1996 and started its operations on 21st June 1996. It was renamed Air India Regional after the merger between Air India and Indian Airlines. Air India Express began operations on 29th April 2005 and was initially owned by Air India Charters.
