About Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL): Northern Coalfields Limited was incorporated in November 1985 and its headquarters is located in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. NCL is a subsidiary of largest Coal Producer of the World-Coal India Limited (CIL) and it is a Miniratna Company of Government of India. Singrauli Coalfield is spread over 2202 square kilometres consisting of two basins i.e., Mother Sub-basin and Singrauli Main basin. All the coal mining operations of NCL are ta present concentrated in Mother Sub-basin and Singrauli main basin lies in the western part of the coalfield and is largely unexplored.
