About Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC): Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC) was established in 16th May 1956 and its headquarters is located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Odisha Mining Corporation Limited is a joint venture company of Govt. of Odisha and Govt. of India and it became a wholly state-owned Corporation of Government of Odisha on 17th Nov 1961. Its main objective is harnessing the mineral wealth of the State of Odisha through exploration, extraction as well as value addition. All the OMC's mining operations are within the state of Odisha with eight mining offices, five regional offices and eight prospecting camps. OMC has 34 mining leases of 6 minerals and coal. It has the mineral reserves of about 850 million tons and coal reserves of about 468 million tons. 60% of mineral reserves are iron ore. The company is on a high growth trajectory, poised to enhance iron ore production from the present 8.6 million tons to 23 million tons in 2020, by operationalizing further 10 new mines with ramping up production in existing mines.
