About Rajasthan High Court: The Rajasthan High Court was incorporated on 29th August 1949 at Jaipur. Later on after complete inauguration of Rajasthan in 1956, it was moved at Jodhpur. The Rajasthan High Court was established under the Rajasthan High Court Ordinance, 1949 and it is the High Court of the state of Rajasthan. Department of Law is a part of Ministry of Law & Justice as per the Allocation of Business Rules of Government of Rajasthan and it is one of the oldest Departments of Government of Rajasthan.
The Law Department performs multiple functions, which are related to legal, administrative and the dispensation of administration of justice in the State. There were five High Courts functioning in the various units of the States i.e. at Jodhpur, Jaipur and Bikaner, the High Courts of former Rajasthan and Matsya Union, before the unification of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan High Court removed these different jurisdictions and provided a Single High Court for the entire State.
