UPSC Civil Services 2022 - Exam pattern

UPSC IFS Exam Pattern Details:

1. Civil Services Preliminary Examination
2. Main Examination

I. Preliminary Examination(Objective Type):

• Two Papers of 200 marks each.
• Both papers will be of the Objective Type.
• Questions are multiple-choice.
• Question Papers will be in both languages Hindi and English.
• Each paper will be for 02 Hours.
• Paper-I with 200 marks and Paper-II with 200 marks.
• The final merit list will be drawn by using aggregate marks of Paper I and II

II. Main Examination:

• Consist of a Written Examination and an Interview.
• Part A with 300 marks and Part B with 300 marks.
• Each paper will be for 02 Hours.
• Question Papers will be in both languages Hindi and English.

1. Paper-I - Essay 250 Marks
2. Paper-II - General Studies I - 250 Marks
3. Paper-III - General Studies II- 250 Marks
4. Paper-IV - General Studies III- 250 Marks
5. Paper-V - General Studies IV(Ethics, Integrity, and Aptitude)- 250 Marks
6. Paper-VI - Optional subject Paper I- 250 Marks
7. Paper-VII - Optional subject Paper II- 250 Marks
8. 1750 marks for Written Test.

 Personal Test/ Interview:

• Maximum Marks for Interview - 275 Marks
• candidates will be interviewed by a Board.
• The interview is to assess the personal suitability of the Candidate.
• Aspirants have to be interested to know events that are happening within and outside of their own state or country.
